the diddles.

i got to see my sister, brother-in-law, and my nephews [quintin cash and avery rock] yesterday. it was a good day. they are just the cutest little family i know. love them.

twin towers.

it was going to happen. come hell, high water, or jerkfaces...the twin towers were going to be reunited. and we were. yesterday, for the first time since january, the twin towers worked together. yes, myself and ambulance operator thompson, were reunited. it was a good shift. working with thompson brought back so many good memories from the year that we worked together. and might i just add, this girl is going to make an amazing firefighter.


we had a little too much fun yesterday.

sleep over.

last night was skyler's and mine last night in our apartment just the two of us. so, we had a sleep over. yes, a sleep over. we realize that this is an activity that you usually partakes in when you are 10, but we participated anyway. blankets, pillows, and laptop in hand, we set up camp in our living room [which is now basically empty since we are all moving out soon]. it took me back to the days of my childhood. so skyler and i got settled with our bedding and set up an episode of "hoarders" on her laptop [i was asleep 20 minutes later, but who is surprised here...], and settled in for the night. it was great, and the 3 week countdown of moving out has begun.

hump day.

until my freshman year of high school, i had never heard the phrase "hump day." sad, i know, what can i say, i led a sheltered childhood. i wanted to start a consistent entry [and figured half way through the week was a perfect time], and i thought back to health class and mrs. hoyo walking to the front of the room saying "happy hump day!" and me sitting in my chair thinking, "who on earth is this lady." since then, i have grown to love referring to wednesday with the phrase "hump day," thus, the title of my new weekly entries. happy hump day everyone!




charissa walton is one of my best friends from my days at biola. i have not seen her since january 2009 when i was in new york with my friends devon and steve for new years. charissa moved to teach english in korea shortly after our new year's adventures, and has not been back to the states since. but in just a little bit over a month, she will be coming to california to visit! i cannot wait to see her! there have been so many times over the last year and a half that my heart has longed for this fun girl, and i finally get my charissa fix :] and charissa, if you are reading this, get excited. our few days are going to be amazing and filled with the beach, target, fast food, target, dr.quinn, target.... it is going to be, wait for it, legendary.

july 4th.

happy birthday america. i am so blessed to live in such a beautiful country. good job founding fathers. good job.

my family and i started camping there when i was little, and it has become my most favorite place in the world. i have hiked half dome once, and i want to hike it again in august. yosemite is a place of peace, happiness, and God's beauty.
